26 January 2017
Since it all started in 2014 we’ve put on shows across the UK, from tiny cafes, to candlelit churches and cavernous theatres.
In January 2017 we launched our Little Victories Live nights, a monthly music showcase for the best unsigned artists from all over the UK, hosted by the excellent Leith Depot.
The first show in a seven month run had an absolutely stellar line-up.
Jack Harris - Jack has an array of impressive accolades to his name. He was invited to play SXSW when he was 17; he’s the youngest ever winner of the Kerrville New Folk Competition, previously won by people like Gillian Welch and Lyle Lovett; and he has a sparkling new record out, The Wide Afternoon. Produced by Gerry Diver, the record is Jack’s best yet, and shows exactly why the brilliant Anais Mitchell described him as “a priest of song”. Good patter too.
Robin Elliott - Robin is a key part of London’s highly regarded Folkroom label, and has been kicking around the city for a few years now performing his wry, experimental tunes. He’s a hard one to pin down, but his Green Ginger Wine EP is a real favourite of ours - warm, dusky, like a nice glass of…well, I mean, you can probably guess.
Caro Bridges & The River - Edinburgh based songwriter Caro Bridges is probably a musical genius. A gifted composer, arranger, and songwriter, she has called this city her home for a few years now and in that time has put together a tight band. They’re doing some cool things at the moment, so catch them now, before they’re playing the Queen’s Hall (if they play the Queen’s Hall in the future, go to that too).
Videos are an awesome way to show off your work in a more engaging and personal way, and we’ve made sure they work great on our themes. Just paste an embed code from YouTube or Vimeo, and the theme makes sure it displays perfectly:
